technology lesson plan

I decided I want to teach a lesson on creating a music video using the website garage band. I want the students to get into groups and create their own song and lyrics on the website. Then video record their music with their idea for a music video.
The standard is: Standard 2: MUSIC: Understand and apply elements of music and understand how music communicates ideas, feelings, and experiences across cultures.
The benchmark is: Benchmark FA.5.2.3 Use music of various styles/genres in performances
I would expect the students to write out their ideas to organize and plan the videography.
The standard is:Standard 4: Writing: CONVENTIONS AND SKILLS: Use the writing process and conventions of language and research to construct meaning and communicate effectively for a variety of purposes and audiences using a range of forms
The benchmark is: Benchmark LA.5.4.1 Write in a variety of grade-appropriate formats for a variety of purposes and audiences, such as:
• narratives that include plot, setting, characters, and a conflict
• poems that use figurative language to convey a theme or impression
• reports incorporating a framing question and including research from two or more sources
• responses to literature
• pieces related to completing tasks
• notes summarizing what they have read or heard
• pieces to reflect on learning and to solve problems

I found this very useful website. It has a list of all different curriculum subjects. When I click on one of the subjects, a long list of games, activities and lesson plans appear. There are also options for special needs and learning disabilities activities and plans. On each list of activities, under a certain subject, their is a brief description of the activity. WHen you click on teh activity the site takes you to a new website with lots of information on that topic. I am glad to of found this website. I can use it my class.

purpose of blogs

I believe that blogs are used primarily for social purposes. While observing other students in blogs, it seems that most people write about their thoughts, activities or ideas. Students comment with one another about social events or thoughts. I believe people post blogs and comment on other peoples blogs because it is free and convenient. It is an effective way to share information and converse with others with no charge involved. I prefer to talk with people personally, but sometimes it is easier to talk with blogs then it is to call on the phone.

I am an elementary education major and I found a great blog about learning centers in an elementary school classroom. The blog gives valuable information on tips for creating various effective learning centers. It follows my teaching style, in which the students are independent learners. The students can makes choices about which center they would like to work at and can prioritize their time at each center. I recommend this blog to any college of education student.
